MP-Free!
Friday's Feature
Sorry I'm so late on posting my feature today, but it has been one of those weeks. This Momma needs a break!! Anywho-I'd like to introduce you to Holly w/ The Picture Board today. The Picture Board is a unique & stylish way to display your favorite pictures. It features a simple slide-through railing system that allows for quick & easy picture arrangement. Just slide your pictures in—and within seconds you have the perfect picture display!
The Picture Board currently comes in three different sizes, holding anywhere from five to twenty-four 4x6 pictures. Its simple design allows you to change out pictures as often as you’d like, without the hassle of dealing with traditional frames. And with multiple options to choose from, it’s easy to get just the right look.
The inspiration behind The Picture Board:
"The inspiration for our business actually came from our son and my husband's mom. When our little boy was born, he spent his first few weeks in the NICU. During that time, we wished there was a way to easily display & change out all the pictures we took as we visited him in the hospital each day. About a year later my mother-in-law came to us and requested that my husband make some sort of picture board as a unique and fun way to display all her family pictures. This reminded us of our earlier desire for a nice picture display with an easy way to change out the pictures frequently. With those ideas in mind, and a few ideas we gathered from other displays, The Picture Board came about. After building the one for my mother-in-law, we loved how it turned out and made a few more for other family members and friends. We posted pictures of them on our personal blog, and we got such a good response that we decided to try to sell a few...and they've turned out to be more of a hit than we thought! We've been off to a great start so far, and we're already working on some other products to add to the mix. My husband loves to build, and I love to decorate, so this is the perfect little project for us to work on together!"
Want It? Picture Board is running a Mother's Day Special (up to 20% off medium boards). Here is a direct link to that special: http://thepictureboard.com/thepictureboard_002.htm. They would also like to offer a 10% refund off Gift Closet reader's orders, valid Saturday through midnight. ( Type in "10% Gift Closet" in the 'instructions to merchant' section at checkout, and they'll refund you 10% through paypal.) Click here to shop!
P.S. Would you like to see your product reviewed & exposed to thousands of women this month? Contact me for the details. :) Have a great weekend!!

Thoughts for Thursday by Emily Farmer
Simplify ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Become a fan on Facebook of The Gift Closet by clicking below:
Is simplicity something you long for? Have you ever wondered how you might could simplify your life? I wonder that quite often myself. Today I want to offer you a few suggestions on how to do just that. These are not set in stone. These suggestions are just a few things I have been doing for awhile that has made my life a little simpler. As you know I am a busy taking caring of my three little active boys. On top of that are the daily routines, schedules and just life in general. You know what I am talking about.
Well a few years back I had to slow down and reevaluate my life. I found myself up tight all the time and even being well, lets just say a tiny bit harsh, to those I love dearly. So it sent me searching for answers. The answers to questions like. Where does all my time go? Why can't I get things accomplished today? Have I really lost touch with my husband, family and friends? The list goes on and on. So here are my suggestions to slow down and really pay attention to everyday hussle and bussle.
My suggestions....There is no particular order this is just the way they popped in my head to type.
- Make a to do list the night before you go to bed.
- Keep a calendar. Only one calendar it will make it less stressful. Find what works best for you, your phone, computer, personal size to carry with you or one on the refrigerator.
- Start your day by spending time with God each morning or at least sometime during the day.
- Ask God to reveal 3 things that's most important on your to do list.
- Make appointments with your husband. This might include a date night.
- Have coffee with a dear friend. You don't have to go anywhere invite her over to your house.
- Learn to say "NO". It's hard at the beginning but, once you start it will feel so rewarding. Your only one person and you can't do everything. You WILL burn yourself out.
- Stop and play with your children. They are only small once. "In a minute" can wait on you. Whatever "it" is "it" will still be there when you get back. If it's not it wasn't as important as you thought.
- Take a look at all the things you are involved in. Is all that stuff or clutter really necessary. Start purging!
- Pray about all big decisions. If you feel unnerved about it don't do it. Remember a red light. Red means "stop" this is the "I'm not sure I should do this or not" , you see nothing but(red flags) reasons why you shouldn't do this. Yellow means slow down and really think or "wait "a little longer. If you don't have peace about it don't do it just yet. It may not be God's perfect timing. Green means "Go" for it and give it your best.
I hope you will take the time sometime this week and look at your routines, daily schedule and all the things you are committed too and start making your life more simplified. You will be a much happier person and others will start to notice that.
"Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him to help you do it and he will."
Ps. 37:5 (TLB)
"And I delight to do your will, my God, for your law is written upon my heart."
Ps. 40:8
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." Col. 3:23

Cookware.com
Being a stay-at-home Mom on a single family income, there are some things I just can't really justify buying...but would love to have. Can you relate? Before I got married, a friend gave me a canister set for my kitchen. It is clear w/ apples on the lid...very outdated! For years I have wanted a new canister set, but they are expensive, and not something I could really justify spending the extra money on. So....when Cookware.com sent me this Canister Set to review...I was super excited!!
.jpg)
The Scoop:
This is a set of 3 Reco Canisters in White, priced @ $42.95. This set of three ribbed canisters featuring airtight lids is made with durable stoneware.
Specifications: Small: 7.25" H x 4.5" W x 4.5" D
Medium: 8.5" H x 5.5" W x 5.5" D
Large: 11" H x 7.5" W x 7.5" D
What I liked about this Canister Set:
1. They are larger than what I expected, which is nice. The current canister set I have is small & won't hold a whole bag of flour, whereas these will.
2. Airtight seals on the lids.
3. The stoneware material is nice & sturdy.
4. They are white so they would go nicely in just about any kitchen.
5. Dishwasher, freezer, microwave, & oven safe. Not that you'd put them in any of those things normally, but it's a sturdy enough stoneware that you can.Love that I can just put them in the dishwasher when needed! :)
What I didn't like about the Canister Set:
1.Can't think of anything really 'cept the White might be harder to keep clean. I washed them in the dishwasher & they held up just fine, so no complaints here!
Want It? Click here to shop at Cookware.com. They have a huge selection of everything from slow cookers, to canisters, to serving dishes, & more!
Click here to support & shop w/ Mom-prenuers on my "Your Gift Closet" page! :)

Friday's Feature
Today I would like to introduce you to Heidi from Budget Wise Home. Her site is dedicated to saving you money and helping you realize that it's possible to have a beautiful home on a very tight budget. She offers great articles such as "Save Water, Save Money", "Saving Energy", & also features Budget Items of the Week.
She also has made some of these elegant jewelry display pieces, which I love! Is this not gorgeous?!

Love these....so creative!! I would love to get one of these for Mother's Day. Wouldn't this be a great gift for your Mom?
The inspiration behind Heidi's site:
"For years I was so frustrated with where to put my jewelry. I had a
jewelry box, but there was not enough room for my stuff and everything
always got tangled. I would also forget about it because I couldn't
see what I had, so I never wore it. I wanted a way to display my
jewelry so that I would see it and wear it, but I also wanted it to be
pretty to look at. I knew there had to be a better way, so after much
creative brainstorming and lots of trial and error, I created my
Jewelry Art shop. Now my jewelry is part of my decor and makes a
beautiful art piece in addition to being a functional storage
solution."
Want it? Click here to visit Budget Wise Home & enjoy 10% off all items in her shop today only!
P.S. Interested in doing a link exchange w/ me? I'll post your link on my "Links" page. Give me a holler if you're interested! ~wink~

Travel At Ease...
Do many of your co-workers fly a lot on business trips? While companies try their best to accommodate passengers with custom airlines products, they still don't quite raise the bar enough to pacify those who are working hectic schedules as well. So why not acquiesce to their desires by getting them some nice promotional travel accessories. A nice logoed pillow ball would go a long way in adding comfort on a long plane ride, while being conveniently small enough to travel with!

Computer Accessories

In today's technology-run age, it's pretty much implied that almost everyone either works with, or knows how to operate computers. While many of us feel that we are more than capable with dealing with our computers on our own, there are still many personal computer accessories that will can make our techno-lives run just a little bit easier. Think about it...how many times have you found yourself in need of items such as an extra promotional USB hub for your iPod or a wireless mouse for your laptop. At the rate that custom computer technology is developing, there are always going to be little extra accessories that people will need for their computers, which makes giving them a great gift idea.

Thoughts for Thursday
Silence
by Emily Farmer
As I sit at my computer to write a devotion this week nothing is pressing on my heart to share. I can't help but wonder why. Then the thought came to mind. Be Still and wait. Those who know me know I don't do "Still" very well. I am never still. Always a busy body never sitting and waiting. As I sit here now my leg shakes as if it's dancing to music. So why is my mind so blank? What is God trying to show me, tell me, make me see. I'm waiting........Nothing comes to mind.
Well I'm back after a short break and I believe this is the message I am to share with you today. If you have never took the time to sit still and wait to hear HIS voice I encourage you to do it. You might learn a lot, you might learn nothing at all. But I am convinced you will learn something. God has so much to say to us if only we will stop and listen to what he is saying. God reveals his voice in many ways, it could be through his word, through someone else, through a situation you are experiencing.
I leave you today with these verses to mediate on. Mediate and then journal what you discovered God speaking to you. Be sure to date it so you can look back upon it in the future and know how far you have come.
"Be Still and know that I am GOD" Ps. 46:10
Read Ps. 25 daily
"....Wait patiently for him to act" Ps. 37:7b

Tuesday's Tip
Ok. Confession time. I don't visit other's blogs very often. There I said it. :( And I feel bad about that, but, I know you'll understand this next part if you're a momma....I've got 3 kids, including a 4 month old (nursing every 3 hours) baby....a house and a hubby to take care of. I try to limit my time on the computer every day. As you prolly know yourself...you can easily start clicking away on cute blogs you come across and before you know it you've spent (or wasted) hours on the computer doing....nothing. Except reading other's blogs, getting good ideas, and having fun.....but there is that "Mommy" guilt telling you you need to be cleaning or doing laundry, and the list goes on...and on...and on. Tell me I'm not the only one that struggles with that guilt please! I don't get much time, or take the time really, to visit my blogging buddies. So, please forgive me if you are one of my loyal readers & I don't stop by to say hello as much.
One thing I do try to do each day is check my feedjit to see who has visited The Gift Closet, then try to pay a visit to them as well. So...all of this confession & ramblings to say that in doing that yesterday, I clicked on a blogger that had visited me called The Blog Cabin. Then, a button on her blog caught my eye, From An Igloo. Sounds interesting, eh? Well, I hopped on over there & found this fabulous post about homemade Fortune Cookies. What I loved most about it was the sayings she put IN the fortune cookies. Check these out!
This...
or this....
Go ahead, make one for the hubby too...

How fun & unique is that!! Bravo Christine!
P.S. Check out my "Your Gift Closet" page & support these Mom-preneurs & advertise your biz here as well! :)

Baby Boy Boom?
Whew! What...a....weekend!! Superbusy weekend w/ family in town, birthday parties, church, and I hosted a baby shower at my house yesterday. My brother-in-law is having a boy...a cousin is also having a baby boy this summer...and it seems like everyone I hear of that is preggers is expecting a boy this year!
Since I had my 1st child almost 8 years ago....a lot has changed in the baby gear world. The patterns have changed (thank goodness)....not everything is character & rainbow balloons anymore. Such cute products and cute patterns out there now. Did you know they actually have a pacifier now that will close up upon hitting the floor so as not to get dirty? Sounds great, but I'm still a little skeptical of that one. I know I'm just rambling now, but I want to share some cool baby sites & stuff I've seen out there lately. I've got another baby shower this coming weekend...so I've got baby on the brain! :)
Something they didn't have around when my 1st 2 were babies was the Bumbo. How cool is this? I've already got my almost 5 month old trying it out & he loves sitting up seeing everything & everyone.

Looking for wonderful nursery ideas? Project Nursery has such unique & fun nursery ideas such as this...
And I found some great mobiles, cribs, & more over at Baby Cribs Plus.
See you gals tomorrow for Tuesday's Tip. By the way....if you are interested in advertising your biz on my sidebar...I'm running a special. Buy 2 months, get 1 free! Email me for the scoop. :)

Thoughts for Thursday by Emily Farmer
Brokenness
What does brokenness mean to you? Is it really necessary? To me brokenness is necessary if you want to grow in your walk with God. I believe when you are broken you are brought to a different place in your walk of life. To me its God's way of saying listen to me, I have something to tell you.
Brokenness can be very scary. But when depending on God, He can help us through our brokenness. Over and over again He tells us in HIS word that HE is there for us. HE will lead us in the right direction if only we will allow that. Leaning on God and depending on HIM is hard if you are the type who doesn't depend on others too well. But that's what God wants from us.
Brokenness is a lot like pruning. Pruning in plates and flowers is cutting away the bad so good can grow. That's exactly how our walk with God is. He allows us to go through certain situations in life so we will depend on HIM so He can show HIS love for us and take care of us. HE is the one who can take away the bad and replace it with good- HIS goodness, God's goodness.
"The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."
Zephaniah 3:17
"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love.
"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love.
Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him"
1 John 4:16
"Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies."
Psalm 36:5
Decision Maker!
Making decisions, whether on work-related matters or on what to get for lunch, can be quite difficult. So why not make this promotional game the gift you give out to your co-workers. It's a decision making dartboard, which leaves your choices in the work-sphere up to your accuracy! The fact that you can sharpen your skills at work in such a fun way makes this the perfect personalized employee gift. Your co-workers will definitely hang this around the office, which will always remind them of how thoughtful and fun you are.

Moleskine Notebook
The highly famed Moleskine srl is a notebook styled after its European predecessor from centuries before. Modeling the books used by avant-garde writers and artists (such as Oscar Wilde, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway and Henri Matisse), this promotional notebook is an elegant allusion to older times and makes for a fine gift. With the addition of a customized pen, you'll make the recipient of this gift want to use this book to its fullest, due to the traditional sentiment it stirs in people.

Shade Yourself from the Spring Sun

Sun-filled April days…temperatures hitting the 90s in the Northeast…what's going on with Spring right now? With all the sunlight we've been getting, it's only fitting that customized sunglasses are the new hot trend for corporate gifts! Logoed hats are always a nice gift, but they won't give you the same type of protection from the bright rays of the sun that a pair of polarized sunglasses can. Getting your co-workers a nice, basic yet classy set of sunglasses will be perfect as they can be used for all occasions that are sun-related!

This unique formula provides both instant and long term benefits that result in smoother, brighter and more firmed looking eyes. Formulated with DMAE, Fullerenes and Microspheres, Ceramic Eye Smoother instantly fills fine lines and helps correct the appearance of dark circles and discoloration.
What I like about the Ceramic Eye Smoother:
1. It really works! So many times you use a product and really can't tell much of a difference. With this one I can. I actually smile as I am putting it on and fill in the lines around my eyes with it. The lines literally disappear as I apply it! Amazing...I have never seen or used anything like it!
2. Makes my skin super soft.
3. Very moisturizing.
4. Only takes a tiny amount....a little goes a long way.
5. You can get on automatic re-order w/ it so you don't have to worry about running out.
6. Company name is very reputable!
What I didn't like about it:
1. It stung a little the first few times I applied it, but that is gone & the results are awesome! :)
Pssttt......I am looking for Female Entrepreneurs to feature on my Friday's Features! It's free advertisement for you & one of my reader's favorite things about The Gift Closet. Please email me so I can feature you!! :) heatherldt @ bellsouth dot net

Golf Outing!
Well, it's already been established that spring has kicked into full gear and now, with the return of the Master's, so has the golf season. So it only seems natural that giving someone a day out on the course makes the perfect promotional gift. It's time to get out those custom golf tees, and practice your best version of the Happy Gilmore swing! But, as it is April, remember to bring your logoed golf umbrella, as my psychic abilities foresee rain in the near future.
Thoughts for Thursday
Something Special
by guest blogger Emily Farmer
by guest blogger Emily Farmer
I was reading an article the other day when I ran across this idea and I thought I would share it with you today. The idea was to start a special journal for your child or a loved one. In this journal you could record bible verses or prayers and even personalize them by inserting their name in them. Any time you have a special thought about that person write it down. Well, I was approached the other day to do just that through a letter. So I thought I'd share it with you and give you some ideas to that might get you started on your special journal. This letter is to a young lady I used to baby sit many years ago.
I can't believe how time has flown by so fast and here you are a High School Senior. Even though I have missed many years of your life, I was there for the first several and that's the memories I hold dear. The first time I saw you at 6 weeks old I fell in love with you. There was something about your parents and you that I just took to and we bonded almost immediately. I remember caring for you like you were my own little girl. All the cute little pink outfits and bows. Something I am not accustom to these days with my boys. Our families just seem to blend like we were made for each other. As I look back now I see it was all God's plan of working out his details in our lives. Like you became my parents "first grandchild" they could spoil. My mom took on the role of being a grandmother and a special friend to your mom like it was second nature. Even though I got married and moved away Mom has kept our families together all these years. I am so thankful for that! Moving away from you and your parents was the hardest thing about moving. My heart was truly broken. But, I knew ,even more important, our bond would always hold us together. There are two pictures that stick out in my mind of you. One is with you in your cute little two piece bathing suite, standing by your kiddy pool on the deck. The other is on my wedding day and you were dressed so cute in your little white dress and your big smile. My sweet little princess of a flower girl. Such a special memory to me!
I am so proud of you as you head towards graduation and starting the new journey in your life. You can do anything you set your mind to, remember that! "For Kalee can do all things through Christ who gives her strength." Phil. 4:13(NIV) I pray that all your desires and dreams come true for you. "For God is working in Kalee, giving Kalee the desires and the power to do what pleases HIM." Phil. 2:13(NLT) Work hard and apply yourself and you will go far in life. "Getting wisdom is the wisest thing Kalee can do! And whatever else Kalee does, develop good judgment. Prov. 4:7(NLT) When ever you are discouraged or troubled lean on God for peace. "Find rest in God alone, Kalee, your hope comes form HIM." Ps. 62:5 Draw all your strength to make it through the day from HIM. "Kalee, who trusts in the Lord will find new strength. She will soar high on wings like eagles. She will run and not grow weary. She will walk and not grow faint." Isa. 40:31(NLT) When someone tells you NO it can't be done, remember " With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matt. 19:26(NIV)
So as you go out in the world hold this truth close to your heart. "Don't be afraid, for I am with Kalee. Don't be discouraged, for I am Kalee's God. I will strengthen Kalee and help Kalee. I will hold Kalee up with my victorious right hand. Isa. 41:10(NLT) You have been equipped with all the knowledge you need to succeed. So use that power and good knowledge and use it to the best of your ability. "For God has not given Kalee a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline." 2 Tim. 1:7(NIV)
You are a VERY strong young woman and I am SO PROUD of you. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with Kalee wherever she goes." Joshua 1:9(NIV) I am praying for you and thinking of you often. Set your goals high and aim for the stars. You deserve it all! God will be with you each step of the way, holding your hand and leading you if only you will lean on and allow HIM to do so. Read HIS word daily and depend solely on HIM and he will guide you in the way you should go.
I LOVE YOU!!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~What a great idea Emily! Thanks so much for sharing. I've always loved the idea of inserting your name into scripture, and that is a wonderful letter that I am sure she cherishes! :)
